A brilliant title for this brilliant album from Thelonious Monk – a set that really has him coming back strongly in the second half of the 50s – with a new talent for arrangements that really goes past his previous work! Monk's piano and compositions are every bit as great as before – but what really makes the album amazing is his ear for horn lines – .

Jun 28,  · Monk's Dream - the 4th CD has always been one of my favorite Monk recordings and his first recording in many years (for Columbia)- this is Jazz at the utmosts and includes like most of the CD's several "takes" on the recorded tunes as a bonus.
