  1. The sound is head and shoulders above any of my Blue Note or Concord Jazz releases on vinyl or disc. My copy is vinyl. I have another live album of Blakey in Sweden recorded by Kavi Alexander of Water Lily Acoustics fame that pales next to this (and he is a great engineer). And the tunes and perfomances are first class all the way.

  4. Bill Evans 2nd great trio. Collection of ballads. Great stuff. I did not read reviews or if I did I ignored them. Anything BE recorded is worth listening to. Its the sound quality that is in question here. This Hallmark/Pickwick label release is bright and tinny. Not horrible but not great either. Not how this music should have been preserved/5().
